Honoring the Devil's Brigade: The Legacy That Drives Our Mission
How the First Special Service Force's extraordinary WWII legacy continues to inspire elite training at First Services Group's Montana ranch.

The First Special Service Force — known as the "Devil's Brigade" — was a joint American-Canadian special operations unit that became one of the most decorated formations of World War II. Activated in 1942 at Fort William Henry Harrison in Helena, Montana, the Force trained in the very mountains and valleys that surround our facility today.
These elite soldiers mastered mountain warfare, winter operations, amphibious assault, and unconventional tactics in the rugged Montana landscape. Their extraordinary courage and capability set the standard for modern special operations forces.
At First Services Group, we are honored to operate on land steeped in this legacy. Every training program we conduct draws on the principles of excellence, adaptability, and relentless determination that defined the Devil's Brigade. Our mission is to ensure that their legacy doesn't just survive in history books — it lives on in the next generation of warriors and leaders who train on this ground.
The heritage of the First Special Service Force is not merely our inspiration. It is our obligation.
