About First Services Group
Service-disabled veteran-owned. Montana-rooted. Mission-driven.
Rooted in the Legacy of the Devil's Brigade
The First Special Service Force was a joint American-Canadian special operations unit activated in 1942 at Fort William Henry Harrison in Helena, Montana. Known as the "Devil's Brigade," this elite formation conducted some of the most daring operations of World War II — from the frozen Aleutian Islands to the mountains of Italy and the beaches of Southern France.
These soldiers trained in the very mountains and valleys that surround our facility today, mastering mountain warfare, winter operations, amphibious assault, and unconventional tactics in Montana's rugged landscape. Their extraordinary courage earned them a reputation as one of the most formidable units in military history.
First Services Group was founded to honor that legacy. We operate on land steeped in this history, delivering training programs that carry forward the principles of excellence, adaptability, and relentless determination that defined the Devil's Brigade. Our mission is to ensure this heritage lives on — not in museums, but in the next generation of warriors and leaders who train on this ground.
